The State-owned Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has formally initiated the process for receiving applications from the eligible serving employees those in the age group of 48-59 years for dependent jobs to their kin under the just revived Dependent Employment Scheme, coinciding with the New Year’s Day.
The company recently revived the long-awaited Dependent Employment Scheme, which was stalled over one-and-a-half decades ago. The move is expected to provide employment to hundreds of eligible kin of the company’s employees in the stipulated age group in a phased manner in the internal recruitment mode.
It is estimated that there are little over 600 workers falling under the specified age category eligible to seek employment for their kin under the scheme in Kothagudem region alone.
The welfare officers concerned have been entrusted with the task of creating awareness on the eligibility conditions of the scheme and guiding the eligible workers avail the same within the stipulated time-frame, the SCCL sources said.
The process is set to gain momentum in the next couple of weeks as the company management has mooted setting up of information centres in Manuguru, Yellendu, Kothagudem areas of the Singareni collieries in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district.
